other website design services comparable. The amount of time and effort
required on the doctor's side to work with such companies, in our opinion, is
never justified.
2. Family, Friends and other Freelancers
As we understand the advantage of working with family and friends, we also
realize the risk a practice is taking choosing that route. We have numerous examples
of clients who have placed the faith of their practice into the hands of a trusted
family or friend (at the time) and later became the victim of several issues. These
are some of the most common ones: Friendships change, relationships end,
freelancers find full time jobs... Our comparison chart does not include this
group, again, since we don't consider it comparable.
3. Template based websites as opposed to custom ones
Many companies who offer template-based designs hide this fact behind their
marketing material. They call their websites 'custom,' because technically you can
change it! You need to be smart about it. One easy way to find out is
this: If they offer a free trial, free test drive and unlimited pages... they are
template-based companies. That means your design is generated by a software so
